WaterSmart Innovations encourages visitors to use public transit; however, we understand it may not meet everyone's needs at all times. This guide covers the full range of transportation options.
WSI offers free shuttle service to the Las Vegas Strip on Wednesday and Thursday evening. Please show your conference badge to board. Shuttles will board at the South Point's main (east) entrance. There is no need to sign-up in advance for the shuttles, but seating is limited. Service times denote the first and last boarding.
South Point to Mirage North Valet: 6:00 am to 7:30 pm with departures every half hour.
Mirage North Valet to South Point: 10:00 pm to 12:30 am with departures every half hour.
Rental cars are usually more cost efficient than taxi cabs. Rental cars may be reserved for pickup at McCarran Airport through all major national companies. Rates with taxes and fees included are typically $30 to $50 per day. Parking at the South Point is free. Most major hotels and attractions also have free parking. If you decide to rent a car after arriving, you may ride the 117 bus from the hotel to the airport rental car center.
Taxis are the most costly way to travel. Fares are $3.30 per ride, plus $0.20 per 1/13 mile. If the taxi is traveling less than 12 mph, a "wait time" fee of $0.20 per 24 seconds is added. Travel to or from McCarran airport is subject to an additional $1.80 fee per trip. To avoid "wait" charges, ask your driver to take the 1-15 freeway to Strip destinations.

Route 117 serves the South Point Hotel and may be used to connect to other routes to the airport, Las Vegas Strip, or access stores and restaurants. Buses on this route are approximately 30 minutes apart.
Bus from the Airport - On the airport's "Zero Level" board the Route 109 southbound and get off at the South Strip Transit Terminal (travel time 7 minutes). Transfer to the 117 Southbound (Bay 9) and get off at the South Point Hotel (travel time 14 minutes).
Bus to the Las Vegas Strip or Downtown - Whether you have speed in mind or want to soak up the sights of the Las Vegas Strip, there are two transit options to get you there . The Regional Transportation Commission offers two routes that travel the Las Vegas Strip and to Downtown:
The
Strip & Downtown Express service features fast, limited-stop
service that travels Las Vegas Boulevard from the South Strip Transfer
Terminal to Downtown Las Vegas and the Fremont Street Experience. The
Strip & Downtown Express service operates from 9 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.,
with service every 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the time of day. The
Strip & Downtown Express also features stops at several of the malls
on the Las Vegas Strip, including the Las Vegas Premium Outlets (Route
117 serves the Outlet Center directly), Town Square, and the Fashion
Show Mall.
1.) Board
the northbound 117 bus at the stop in the South Point parking lot near
the Sports Book entrance (travel time 17 minutes).
2.) At the South Side Transit Terminal (SSTT), transfer to the Strip & Downtown Express.
The "Deuce" double-decker bus travels also Las Vegas Boulevard from the Mandalay Bay all the way to Downtown Las Vegas and the Fremont Street Experience. The Deuce on the Strip operates to the South Strip Transfer Terminal during the hours in which the Strip and Downtown Express does not operate. With more frequent stops and a stunning view from the top deck, the Deuce is a great way to see the sights of the Las Vegas Strip.
